Masters of Lyrical Art "Magda Ianculescu"
 The National Opera House
in Bucharest (NOB) organizes the 1st edition of the International
Canto Competition "Masters of Lyrical Art", an extraordinary
event which will take place between the 24th
and the 29th
of March 2009.
The 1st edition of the competition is dedicated to the famos
soprano Magda Ianculescu, who has proved her artistic skill by performing
a vast repertoire on national and international stages, as one of the
remarkable personalities of the second half of the 20th
century. Each edition of the of the International Canto Competition
"Masters of Lyrical Art"
will be dedicated tp a famos artist of the Romanian lyrical stage.
The competition aims at discovering and launching the best lyrical voices
of the younger generation. Performers belonging to all categories can
register in the competiton: singers, soloists or choire singers in musical
institutions, students of Music Colleges, young talents professionally
trained in Romania and abroad. Competitors aged between 20 and 32 (until
the 31st of March 2009)
are admitted in the contest.
The competition
will consist of two eliminatory stages (with piano accompaniment), taking
place in the NOB Yellow Foyer, and the final stage (with orchestra accompaniment),
organized in the NOB performance hall. The prize awardings and the laureats’
concert will take place on Sunday, the 29th
of March, in the hall of the National Opera House in Bucharest.
